This HDB home was transformed with Wabi-Sabi elements for a timeless, modern charm.

Captivated by the vision of this transformative project, the homeowner approached the expertise of Insight.Out Studio to curate the interior design of their unit. The homeowner loves drawing inspiration from Wabi Sabi style so elements reminiscent of Wabi Sabi were incorporated throughout the house. A striking feature is the timeless glass block and mosaic arch entrance, reminiscent of a bygone era, meticulously revitalized to harmonize with the overall design ethos.

Shifting attention to the bathrooms, two existing ones were reconfigured to create an ensuite bathroom. Achieving a polished finish, the pipes were expertly concealed, and this opportunity was seized to create a convenient shampoo niche for the homeowner's daily use.

Incorporating Wabi Sabi elements into the bathroom design, we involved the creation of a custom mini bathtub, a half wall, and a basin. The unconventional inclusion of a mini bathtub within an HDB unit adds a layer of intrigue, while a cement screen adorned with epoxy painting becomes a captivating focal point.

The artistry of Wabi Sabi finds its way into every nook, with the entire house adorned in DIY-ed lime wash paint, providing a delightful and charming final touch. In essence, this residence has undergone a remarkable transformation, embodying the essence of Wabi Sabi in a modern and stylish manner.
