Infusing Spanish Colonial style with peranakan inspired textures to create a timeless space. When Roy (Co-founder of Insight.Out Studio) met up with homeowner J, he was tasked to design a space using a concept that will stand the test of time. By combining the colours of 2 lesser known themes in Spanish and Colonial, Roy was able to transform this run down 3 room apartment into a space that evokes nostalgic charms of the past.

As you step into the apartment, you will be greeted by colourful art pieces that were specially curated to suit the theme and colonial style floor tiles that were tastefully matched with walnut tone timber floor tiles. Walking past the counter that overlooks the Southern greenery, you’ll find yourself heading down an arc hallway that leads to a bedroom that can be cordoned off with reeded glass folding doors.

Advancing further into the unit, an otherwise empty space made up of white walls was given a lease of life with the aid of walnut tone bespoke carpentry. Boasting an open concept Kitchen with a little vanity corner at the end of the hallway, the clever use of space to conceal the washer and dryer has allowed for a spacious dining space for the family. The addition of colonial style furniture, plants and textures such as rattan completes the look of the space.
