Transforming a 5-year MOP HDB from a worn space into a cohesive, cozy home with strategic reconfigurations and visually appealing design.
Designing a 5-year MOP HDB can be quite challenging, especially given the existing poor condition. Additionally, the homeowner expressed a desire to avoid a cookie-cutter house. Our designer embraced the challenge, leading to the decision to remove non-structural walls and floor tiles. This created the perfect opportunity to reconfigure the entire space.
Throughout the design process, we carefully considered the homeowner's requirements and needs. One of the considerations was the placement of the basin in the common bathroom. The basin was strategically positioned, separated from the common toilet. This not only enlarged the common bathroom but also eliminated the need for cabinets in moisture-prone areas, becoming a key feature of the house.
To enhance the overall aesthetic and create a cozy atmosphere, laminate feature walls were installed in the living area. The key to beautifying the house was a conscious decision to limit the lamination choices to two colors. This approach minimizes color variations and contributes to a cohesive and visually appealing space. Despite the challenges, the homeowner is delighted with the final result, and our designer is equally pleased with the flawless execution of the project.
